A beautifully simple tart that feels a little bit fancy! This Caramelised Onion, Pear & Blue Cheese Tart brings together sweet, savoury and creamy flavours on a golden, flaky puff pastry base. Made effortlessly in your Thermomix®, it’s perfect for entertaining, lunch, or when you want something impressive without the fuss.
Add onion and garlic to Thermomix Bowl and chop 5 secs/speed 5. Scrape down.
Add olive oil, balsamic and brown sugar. Cook 20 mins/120℃/speed 1. Cool.
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Lay puff pastry flat on the paper. Score a 2cm border around the edge. Prick the centre with a fork. Spread caramelised onions evenly in the centre. Top with sliced pear. Crumble blue cheese over the top. Sprinkle thyme, salt and pepper. Brush edges with egg.
Bake 25 - 30 mins until golden. puffed and crisp.
Drizzle with honey and and sprinkle on extra thyme and chopped walnuts. Finish with a scattering of rocket. Slice and serve.
